Hello families š I am 22 years old and studying speech pathology at Newcastle uni and working in disability support work with higher needs children. I have a current first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma training, and a working with childrenās check and national police check. I have my own car and full drivers license. I have had several previous baby sitting and tutoring experience in Sydney before having to sadly say goodbye when moving to newcastle. I just recently ended my nannying for a beautiful family ages 4,8 and 13 that i did for 2 years, to move onto different work, however miss babysitting when i can and would love some casual hours where i can. Let me know if thereās anything else youād like to know about me, or if you wanted to meet up to help you get to know me - as i have no doubt itās scary leaving your kids with a stranger, so i would want you to all be as comfortable as possible! I hope to hear from any families that might be interested and canāt wait for any possible opportunities to help out :)
I have been babysitting previously for various families since 2018 in Sydney, and having recently moved to Newcastle for University, am looking for some new families to form the same wonderful connections with! I have my first aid certificate, which i was given because of my volunteer work and training with my local surf life saving club in Sydney, which has involved me taking care of large groups of kids of all ages in the water and on the beach. I have also had a large range of experience with various different families that i have baby sat in Sydney, including 2 of which I nannied for a long period of time before I left for Newcastle and sadly had to say goodbye. I truely love engaging with kids of all ages and have missed getting to know families and aiding in hopefully being of great assistance to a home.
I graduated Barker College in Sydney in 2020 and am currently in my first year of a double degree of Law and Social Science at Newcastle University and absolutely loving it! I have previously tutored two lovely girls in Sydney in 2019-2020 before I moved to Newcastle and had to unfortunately say goodbye. The girls were 13 and 15, and I assisted them in their mathematics studies. I made the commitment to purchase their textbook, and ensured that I followed what they were doing in class, often teaching them what they would be doing in their next lesson, so that they would be confident in class and ready to answer questions for their teacher! I found that this approach built their confidence very much when it came to their studies, and I saw a significant improvement in their marks as a result. Of course, we also focused on previous topics that they seemed to struggle with, and I formulated small homework tasks each week, that fit with their schedule, which aided to challenge them whilst also ensuring they were not swamped in work! I would love to assist in any sort of subject tutoring, with the exception of languages unfortunately. My efforts can also simply be for little bits of homework help when baby sitting :)
