Hello all! I am a qualified primary school teacher from Ireland who is eager to work with families in the area! I have experience with kids of all ages through my years of teaching, working in overnight Summer camps abroad, nannying and private tutoring. I am a very sociable person, and pride myself on my caring and compassionate qualities. I am happy to work with people of all ages and needs. If you have any questions, please do get in touch! š
Through my teaching degree I have completed training regarding children with special needs. For two years I worked in a school for children who are deaf and hard of hearing and can communicate through ISL (Irish Sign Language). I have also worked as a āspecial education teacherā which entailed working with kids with additional needs. My older sister has Down Syndrome which has aided me with my work and outlook on additional needs.
From 2016-2020 I completed my bachelor degree in education which sparked my huge love for working with children. Since then I have been working in schools with children aged 4-13. In 2018 I spent a Summer in Canada where I worked as a camp counsellor in an overnight camp. As part of the junior girls team (ages 6-10), my role was to look after the kids hygiene, put the kids to bed, get them ready for their day and of course to support and nurture them during their time away from home. Over the years I have acted as a nanny on a casual basis for relatives and friends and have always loved time spent with the little ones! Working with children is something I love to do and I am always open to a challenge.
My formal experience as a teacher includes working in special education and mainstream classrooms. I have worked with every age group. In Ireland teachers are responsible in teaching all subject areas - English, maths, Irish (native language), history, geography, science, art, music, drama, physical education, etc. I have also completed tutoring - small group help with maths and English, 1:1 working with a child who is a high achiever, 1:1 working with a child suffering with anxiety.
