Hi mums, dads and carers, I’m from Ireland and grew up in a big family of 7 (including my parents). I have always had a love for school and helping children in any way I can, including accessing the curriculum to suit their needs. I’ve done homework tutoring in Ireland for 7 years and have 3 years experience teaching children with special educational needs. I am a very caring, compassionate, reliable, outgoing person and enjoy seeing kids reach their goals and overcome obstacles.
I am not special needs trained from college however I spent 3 years in Ireland assisting and teaching children with a variety of need including dyslexia, dyscalculia, selective mutism, non-verbal, challenging behaviour, ADHD, autism, low self-esteem, poor social skills, etc.
I have been looking after children for the last 13 years. I have experience with babies and school going kids. I have minded then in their homes, at events and taking them to their own hobbies. I have experience nannying in Australia also for a couple of months before the family moved abroad.
I spent 7 years doing after school homework tutoring. I was working for a company and it involved a mixture of encouraging children to do their work independently and checking it as well as aiding children (particularly younger kid and kids struggling) to complete their homework and break it down for them to make it easier. I also did one on one tutoring with a child for maths and English. This involved going to her house, helping complete her homework and for the remaining time working on past, current or future topics she will be doing in school. Reason for leaving both was because I was moving to Australia.
