Hi mums and dads! I’m a Qualified Primary School Teacher and a Registered Nurse from Ireland. I have taught children from the ages of 4-12 both in the classroom setting and as a support teacher. I have also worked as a private tutor in Ireland, helping children 1:1 with literacy and numercy skills. My teaching background helps me engage children with fun, educational activities, while my nursing skills ensure that I can handle any health-related concerns calmly and confidently. I am very patient, attentive and understanding of children’s needs, making them feel safe, cared for and entertained while under my supervision.
Experience working with children with ASD in the primary school setting.
I have worked as a Primary School Teacher for the last 3 years, engaging with children of all ages and managing classrooms of upto 33 children. Prior to working as a nurse I babysat neighbours and children in my area from the ages of 1-13 in their homes.
My tutoring experience includes working 1:1 with a 6 year old year 1 pupil who was finding literacy challenging. We worked on phonics and phonemic awareness ensuring she was confident in her knowledge of phonics before moving onto reading and then writing CVC words. I worked 1:1 with an 7 year old year 2 pupil who was finding addition challenging. Through use of concrete material, the child became confident in their ability to add. I worked 1:1 with an 11 year old year 5 pupil on English comprehension and spelling.
