Childcare Experience
I have been looking after children since I was 14 years old (almost five years) and have loved every second of it! I feel comfortable with children of all ages but particularly enjoy looking after older children. In 2023, I lived and worked at a UK boarding school looking after fifty children ages 11-15, which I really enjoyed! Being able to make a difference in a child’s life and watch them grow and develop is something I really love! I find even just being a presence in a child’s life rewarding, especially when many children are dealing with issues I don’t always know the extent of. Knowing that you’ve been there for them, even as a friend, is something I value immensely!
Tutoring Experience
I have been tutoring children of primary school age for three years, specialising in English and humanities based subjects such as History, Geography, Religious Education and Languages. Having graduated school in 2022 with a 98.7 ATAR, I moved to the UK in 2023 to help primary and high school aged children with their literacy and general learning skills. I worked with countless children across the year, predominantly in English, and was able to help them develop basic skills essential for further education. I also had the opportunity to teach English to a Year 5 class for the year, which allowed me to have a lasting impact on their education. I have also tutored Year 12 students one on one via Zoom in 2023, particularly in English Advanced and Extension. Having received a 97/100 in English Advanced and 46/50 in English Extension 1, I understand the necessary skills and study techniques needed to achieve in the HSC. I also achieved a 96/100 in Modern History and 48/50 in History Extension, and have tutored Year 11 students going into Year 12 in Modern. I also was selected for Creative Writing classes in high school and have tutored children of all age groups in strengthening not only their creative writing, but their essays and short answer responses. I also received a 97/100 in Studies of Religion 2 Unit and have helped Year 12 students construct all types of responses in exam format. Having finished Year 12 in 2022, I have a keen understanding of current syllabuses and what is needed to maximise results
