Hi parents, I grew up in a family with a younger brother, and I'm currently studying for a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have several years of experience working with children in both Australian and Hong Kong settings, so I have a lot of experience in childcare!
In my previous Early Childhood Higher Diploma in Hong Kong, several units taught us about various special needs symptoms and how to manage those behaviors. For example, some autistic children have no eye contact and are very sensitive to different textures and sensations. When they experience difficulties, we can use various tactile sensations to help them calm down. So when I encounter emotionally unstable autistic students in my work, I used this method to help them calm down and relax.
I have three years of experience working with young children in Hong Kong. I have practiced at two kindergartens, taught extracurricular classes, and tutored primary and secondary school students. Since coming to Australia, I have also worked and practiced at various childcare centres.
I am fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin, Chinese is my strength. I have taught students of different ages in these two languages. My teaching style focuses on making learning enjoyable, using various games and teaching aids to help students enjoy language learning.
