Hi there! I’ve spent 10 years both babysitting and teaching children, and I enjoy spending time with kids. I hope to always make sure that children of any age have a positive & fun experience when I look after them. I have a very warm & bubbly personality that works well for spending time with kids :) When I’m not working in childcare, I work in professional theatre, andI love arts & crafts, gardening, and baking. I have a driver’s license (currently on Green P’s) and have a completely clean driving record. I’m originally from Melbourne but moved to Perth 1.5 years ago and love it here.
I’ve had a variety of experience working with children, including about 10 years of babysitting. I regularly babysit for several families and have looked after children aged 2-13. I spent 3 years as an assistant drama teacher for kids aged 7-14, where I gained a lot of skills based around communication and making sure everyone learns and has fun while doing activities, which I apply to my babysitting as well. I’ve also done work experience at an early childhood centre. I’m most comfortable babysitting ages 2 and up.
My home tutoring experience for primary school aged students has largely been help with maths, english, and reading. I’ve mainly done this during babysitting jobs, wherein I’ve helped kids with their homework tasks and given extra assistance in areas that they struggle with. I’m particularly passionate about reading. I’ve worked with secondary aged students by giving free tutoring in my school library to younger year levels in a variety of subjects. I particularly specialise in English, Politics and Theatre Studies. My experience as an assistant drama teacher has given me skills in teaching and communication that foster learning, which I apply to my teaching in other subjects.
