Hello! :) I'm from Singapore and I'm able to converse in Mandarin and English. I've just started my casual educator role through TheirCare and Tradewind as a teacher's aide. (Australia) For the past 7 years I've supported and taught 7-9 years old students on the spectrum in Singapore. (Note: I've not had any experience of handling babies) Through my previous work experience, I've learnt a lot about class management, Positive Behaviour Support, Autism friendly strategies and ways to differentiate my teaching. I have the following: - Working With Children Check - Police Check - HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting - Diploma in Special Education - Diploma in Culinary & Catering Management - Use hygienic practices for food safety (SITXFSA00*) cert - Certificate in Autism
I studied Diploma in Special Education at Nanyang Technological University and worked with students on the spectrum for the past 7 years at Pathlight School (Singapore). I got to acquire and apply ASD friendly strategies and Positive Behaviour Support through my journey. I've taught 7 and 8 years old students on the spectrum Mathematics (mainstream curriculum), Daily Living Skills and Social Emotional Management for 3 years.
I have been working with students for 7 years. I'm comfortable working with kids from 5 to 18 years old. I enjoy the process of getting to understand every student/child while offering them a safe space to be themselves.
I have taught Mathematics for 3 years to 7 and 8 years old students on the spectrum who are working towards taking their national exams in Pathlight School (Singapore). In my previous work place, I taught students on the spectrum mainstream curriculum with the Concrete Pictorial and Abstract approach. Taught basic concepts like...numbers to 1000, addition & subtraction to 1000, multiplication, division, volume, shapes, fraction and 2 steps word problems etc.
