Hello everyone! I am a Primary School Teacher from the UK who has just moved to Sydney a few months ago. As I will be working as a casual relief teacher here soon, I will be working at my main job Monday-Friday. Therefore, I am more than happy to pick up any one-off babysitting shifts that you may have on an evening (from 5pm) or weekend at any time! I have always been passionate about working with children from diverse backgrounds and cultures. With a degree in Japanese Language, I am an open-minded individual who enjoys communicating with people and learning about different cultures. Working with children is incredibly rewarding for me, as I know I’m making a positive impact on their lives. My friends, family and colleagues describe me as a calm, empathetic and nurturing individual. My extensive experience working with children ages 3-11 equips me with valuable insights for a babysitting role. I have worked with many children who have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and hearing difficulties, aswell as severe social and emotional needs. I have gained valuable behaviour management strategies with my patience and ability to empathise with children. I would make a great addition to any family. In my free time, I lead an active lifestyle - I like to swim, hike, play sports and go for runs. I would love the opportunity to engage your children in fun games and activities that improve their social, personal and emotional skills and also build their confidence! If you have any questions, please feel free to message me! Thankyou and I look forward to hearing from you!
I worked in a school where nearly half of my class had special needs. Some of these were social and emotional needs and some were learning and cognitive needs. I have worked with children with autism and ADHD so I know some good strategies to support these children and help them to thrive!
I have been a teacher now for 5 years. I have worked with all age groups from 3-11. I would be most comfortable working with children around this age group. Working with children is an incredibly rewarding job and I love going to work knowing that I am making a positive difference to a child’s life.
I studied a 4 year degree in Japanese language and Business Studies. From there, I did a post graduate certificate of education in Primary Education, specialising in mathematics. I trained to teach in a lovely year 2 class in my placement school. When qualified, I worked as a tutor for years 3, 4 and 5, who needed support with maths and reading. I then worked in a year 6 class for 6 months before moving to a year 1 class, where I taught them for 2 years. I also worked very closely with the nursery and reception classes to ensure a continuous provision was provided for year 1. As a teacher, I planned and prepared various interventions for children who needed extra support. These interventions were specifically tailored to their needs and were a very important aspect of my teaching.
