Hi everyone! I am a trained primary school teacher from Ireland. I have plenty of experience working with, and caring for children of various ages in school. As one of the eldest in my family I have also had experience in caring for my younger siblings, as well as babysitting younger cousins and neighbours as I was growing up!
I am a qualified primary school teacher, and as part of our training we learned about various additional needs. I worked for a year as a Special Education Teacher in Ireland, so have experience in working with children with additional needs.
I have been a qualified as a primary school teacher for 2 and a half years, working in a junior primary school at home (aged up to 8 years) which I loved. Since moving to Australia I have been working with all age groups in primary school. Previous to this I worked as a CRT in school, and have been looking after my younger siblings and babysitting cousins/neighbours since I was 12/13, the youngest which I’ve looked after being around 6 months old. I love working with kids, it is so rewarding, and can also be so much fun! I love the questions and conversations you can get into with children, always something unexpected!
I have a Bachelors Degree in Primary Education, with a years experience in Special Education, where I did lots of small group/one-to-one support work with children with additional needs, or who needed extra literacy/numeracy support. I have more experience with the earlier years of primary school, but have also tutored the equivalent of a Grade 5/6 student during Covid, as well as CRT work throughout all primary years in my time here in Australia.
