Hey fams! I was a scholarship dancer, I play piano, love to exercise and hang out with my French bulldog Chico and Sun Conure parrot Little Mr., and I have completed an undergraduate degree in Conservation and Wildlife Biology, Biological Science and Journalism. I've worked as a full time professional nanny privately and for foster care/disability work through government agencies for 8 years. In the last 5 years I've been more focused on bar work with casual nannying still filling in some weekends. But I'm looking forward to returning to childcare while I volunteer and build up my confidence to design my own nature-based interaction, eco-conscious learning, self-suffiency independent skill training homeschooling program. As a Nanny: I grew up as the eldest of 3 Montessori educated children so I am very familiar with the concepts of responsibility, communication, and patience and also put in practice attentiveness, politeness, and playfulness. I am very straightforward with children, and take the time to listen to them so that we are comfortable and honest with each other from the start. I currently possess first aid and CPR certification, and am in the process of reattaining my WWCC or Blue Card (Qld conversion). I have a CV with more details about me, which I am happy to provide on request. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Agency contract work for foster care children with disabilities or behavioural trauma.
I have been babysitting for 8+ years and don't have a particular preference with age but have had most experience with ages 18 mnths to 16 years.
More as additional hobbies I've explored with kids and had a real knack for. Nature based play (Montessori principles are a good example). Reading and homework help. Encouraging philosophical discussions and reflection time.
