Special Needs Experience
My degree in primary teaching enabled me to gain special educational needs training. Optionally, I decided to complete another module in this area due to my interest in working with children with additional needs. I have experience working with children in a school setting - ASD classroom, students with needs who are in mainstream as well as the home setting - babysitting/ working with children during the summer. I have a keen interest in this area.
Childcare Experience
Over the last 10 years, I have looked after children in a wide variety of settings - primary school, preschool, special educational needs classrooms & outside of the educational environment such as in children’s own homes. I have experience with children from the ages of 2 up to teenage years. As well as this, I worked with children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy & Down Syndrome. As a primary teacher I have experience of working in a school setting over the last 4 years, coming across children daily in different environments & schools.
Tutoring Experience
As a qualified primary school teacher in Ireland, I have vast experience of teaching methodologies and skills for different subject areas. At home, I have tutored students mainly in the areas of English & Maths. Although I am not familiar enough with the Australian curriculum, I would use my initiative to become familiar with it if needs be.
