Hello, I am an experienced nanny with a working with children’s check, first aid certificate and driver’s licence. I have experience caring for siblings, babies under 12 months old, toddlers and primary school age children including 3 years experience nannying 3-4 days per week. I work fulltime for a tech company but really miss nannying and would love to help out with before school needs (school drop offs, walking school bus, school sports, making yummy breakfasts and reading stories, getting ready and doing homework together) as well as evenings (6pm onwards) and weekends. I am an apt multitasker and would love to assist with cooking, cleaning, gardening and other odd jobs whilst babysitting. I am creative, patient and embody a positive, proactive mindset towards household chores and organisation of age-specific and group activities. I am active and outdoorsy and enjoy taking children to their extracurricular activities, museums, cafes and encouraging them to participate in sport and play. Some of my favourite memories include teaching the youngest in my current family to move from a balance bike to one with peddles (that we chose together) and then to cycle without training wheels, taking books to the park to read with the children and having other children want to come and join in. I also enjoy making omelettes, healthy pancakes and delicious dinners (roast lamb/stir-fries/anything from NYT Cooking/Alison Roman) and reading stories while we eat breakfast together before walking to school or playgroups to start the day with a warm relaxed routine. I enjoy and am constantly surprised with how quickly children learn new skills (and their own joy when they finish a challenging reader book or beat their times tables record!). I would love to hear more about your expectations so that I can be at meet your needs as a family. For a walking school bus, I am happy for you to team up with another family or two who live nearby and attend the same school so that there are up to 4 children walking together (maximum walking time 30 minutes from the first house to the school via the other homes so the children aren’t too tired for their first lesson at school). Childcare Experience
I have three years of experience as a nanny, most recently caring for an active family of three children on a part time basis of 3-4 days per week for over a year (aged 2, 4 and 8 when I first joined their family - now all 1.5 years older) and a pup, as well as previously caring for an infant under 12 months old and another family with two special children aged 2 and 12 months. Most of this experience was on a part time basis of 3-4 days per week including activities such as bike rides, beach days, extracurriculars like baby music classes, CERES, baking, school and kinder pick ups and drop offs and homework and household management. Whilst I have started working professionally in my field of study, nannying will always hold a special place in my heart and I continue to nanny casually for the family of three children (the previous family having moved back to their hometown in QLD), and am currently looking for one-off and casual recurring nannying contracts for before school, from 6pm weeknights or on weekends. Happy to help with Saturday morning sports, night nannying, weeknight dinner prep or sports practice if you just want a night to yourself I can come and make dinner and take the kids to the park or keep them busy with games, walking school bus (multiple families can team up here so children can safely walk to school and enjoy starting the morning with fresh air, some exercise and connection with other children and myself as a positive adult role model).
Tutoring Experience
I am passionate about English and maths, and have been formally tutoring preschool and primary school children for over 12 months in maths, reading, comprehension and writing as well as informally (unpaid mentoring for siblings, cousins and other relatives and family friends) in year 7-12 (VCE curriculum) English and maths for several years.
