Hello families! I am a qualified Irish primary school teacher for the last 6 years. Having Moved to Melbourne this January, I have spent a lot of my time working in a Special Developmental School. I am registered with The Victorian Institute of Education and hold a WWCC. While I do currently work full-time, I will be available during the school holidays in January. Ideally, I would love to spend the school holidays with the same family. As well as teaching, I am a very active individual and spend a lot of time outdoors and practicing yoga (I am also a yoga teacher). I am loving Melbourne so far, especially all the amazing food options, which is another hobby of mine- both cooking and trying new spots here! I am a pet lover and really miss having a dog to walk, so would be comfortable around any animals you may have. I have a full Australian drivers licence but unfortunately I do not have a car. If you have any questions or would like to chat more, please don’t hesitate to shoot me a message.
I have primarily worked in mainstream schools and have had many children in my class with various educational needs. I am currently working in a Special Developmental School with children from age 5-18. From this, I have gained a lot more experience with kids who have physical disabilities as well as ASD/Down Syndrome/Intellectual Disabilities
I began babysitting for neighbours when I was 15 years old. When I was 16, I spent a summer as an Au Pair in Bilbao with 4 children and loved that unique experience. I also spent many years teaching dancing and it was something I made part of the morning routine in the classroom. Since becoming a qualified teacher in 2017, I have spent every year since with children. Throughout University, I specialised in Drama and thereafter, spent every year running after school clubs in dancing and theatre. My favourite part of teaching is getting to know each little individual’s personality on a deeper level and building the trust and bond throughout the year. Seeing them grow in confidence (in their own abilities socially and educationally) is always very special. Being happy, comfortable in their environment and having fun in school was always a key priority for me as their teacher. Having become a Casual Relief Teacher here in Melbourne, I have gotten the opportunity to visit many schools and meet a lot of children. I have spent this entire term so far in a Special Development School and have really enjoyed gaining further experience in this setting.
Bachelor of Education- graduated in 2017. Comfortable with tutoring in all primary subjects. Worked primarily with Kindergartens, Year 1, 2 & 3.
