As an experienced primary school teacher (aged 4-11), I am passionate about helping to educate and nurture children both academically and socially. I aim to create supportive, stimulating and child-centred experiences whilst promoting positive relationships and behaviour. I have worked in a special needs charity, meeting the needs of a wide range of children with additional learning requirements. With first aid, CPR and mindfulness training I am equipped with the skills to meet the physical and mental needs of the children in my care. Personally, I am a keen sportswoman and enjoy promoting an active lifestyle and interest in sports. I have cared for children through babysitting, childminding, coaching, teaching and tutoring for the last 14 years and can bring a depth of experience and knowledge in caring for children from babies up to their teenage years. Special Needs Experience
I am currently studying to complete a Masters of Education, specialising in Special Needs. My Bachelor of Education Degree specialised in Special Educational Needs. I completed a 12 week placement in a Severe Learning Difficulties school. I worked and volunteered in Sólás Special Needs Charity working with children with ASD and other learning difficulties from ages 3years- 16 years. I have ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia and general Special Educational needs training. I work daily with pupils with additional needs, individualising the curriculum to meet their social, emotional, behavioural and educational needs.
Childcare Experience
I have been a professional primary school teacher for 6 years. I also completed placements throughout my teaching degree in both primary and SEN schools. I have had childminding, babysitting and tutoring jobs since the age of 15, working with children from ages 1 to 18 years old. I volunteer within my local GAA club to coach children from ages 3 to 18 years old.
Tutoring Experience
I am passionate about promoting core English, Reading and Mathematics competencies amongst primary aged pupils. I have experience tutoring children for transfer tests, aged 11, focusing on English and Mathematics. I have tutored children of multiple ages for extended periods of time, individualising my input depending on their key learning needs.
