Hello families, I’d love the opportunity to work with, and provide support for, your little ones. I believe children thrive best when they are free to explore and discover, gently guided by the adults in their life. I utilise nature play as much as possible and love to foster opportunities for art and creativity. I have worked both in a professional capacity and with family and friends’ young children. I allow the child to lead their experience and flow to where they are drawn. Along with nannying I also provide support to aged and disabled individuals in their home. From a very young age I have always enjoyed helping people whether it be my Mum with the housework or my Nana with her weekly shopping. All clients, family and friends have described my energy as calming and gentle. I feel most myself when I am nurturing and caring for. I recently had the opportunity to care for two children 24/7 for a month while their mother attended a family matter overseas. I was extremely humbled by the experience and have a new perspective on parenting. I now see my role as not only child carer but also family support, assisting all members of the family to find ease and flow in their day to day. I have worked in a volunteer capacity providing support to mums in the first year of babies life. I visited their home for a few hours each week assisting with housework, entertaining older children, holding baby or simply being an ear to listen or shoulder to lean on. I would love to work with families of babies and toddlers. I have my own car and driver licence, current first aid and WWCC. If this resonates with you I would love to meet and chat more
I have cared for children intermittently for the past 15+ years. As a young adult I looked after my little cousin once a week from the age of 3 until she attended kindergarten. Our day included dropping her younger brother to school, pottering around the home and general tidying of the house and washing, hanging and folding of laundry. More recently I cared for an 8mth old, 2 days a week for 7 hours a day. We would go out to the park and the beach and walks in nature. When he slept I would tidy and sort washing. One month caring for 2.5yr old and 6 yr old 24/7. The mother was overseas and father was working full time. I attended to all care needs of the children including school runs, preparing and providing all meals, waking with the youngest overnight and settle back to sleep. This included all household chores. Casual babysitting of a 1 year old girl. I am most comfortable caring for babies and toddlers. I love seeing the way children explore their world. They are unfiltered and non-judgemental and take such delight in the smallest of things.
