Hi everyone. I am an enthusiastic, engaging, fun and responsible young woman who loves spending time with children and young people! I come from a family of five with a large extended family. I would be one of the elder cousins with lots of younger cousins under the age of 8. I have a lot of experience taking care of them. I also have a degree in social care practice with 3 years experience working with children aging between 8-18 with intellectual disabilities. My role included taking care of them in a respite home where I would pick them up from school, help them with their personal care; domestic tasks and personal goals. My hobbies include singing, gym and Gaelic football. Through my experience of singing and Gaelic I have worked alongside children facilitating activities with them. I'm originally from Ireland and have been in Australia for 6 months! I would love to meet you and help your family out!
Courses completed as part of my work experience in social care with children with intellectual disabilities include: -Managing challenging behaviour -FEDS training and Peg feeding trained -Manual and people handling -Medication training
I have three years experience working as a social care worker with children who have intellectual disability aged 8-18. My role involved staying over at the respite house with the children. Here I would pick them up from school, assist with their personal care, domestic tasks, personal goals and overall personal development. I would also be responsible for the upkeep of the house and service vehicle. I have a large extended family with younger cousins from the age of 8 to 1. I've spent a lot of time with my cousins and have often taken care of them overnight or during the day.
