Hello Adelaide families, I'm a fun, fair minded, responsible woman with many years of varied childcare experience including infants, live in nanny and au pair in America, crisis care, multiple births assistance and night feeding. I am vaccinated and follow covid contact/hygiene protocol. These days I am mostly interested in weekday afternoon/evening and weekend child minding or occasional infant care. Experienced with special needs and dietary restrictions/allergies. I am actually coeliac and lactose intolerant. I can be available on a flexible schedule for your family's caring needs, even at short notice as I know how circumstances can change and parents/caregivers need to adapt with haste and confidence. Happy to discuss your individual situation.
I started working in childcare straight out of high school and lived in USA for a year as an au pair before starting University. During tertiary study I preferred to be in childcare and party help as flexible employment and volunteered during uni breaks in orphanages and communities overseas including Timor-Leste and Kenya. Since graduation my career (public service) has left me unsatisfied with my contribution to the community and I have returned to child and infant care as I believe it is a more valuable and emotionally rewarding use of my life. I hope that makes sense. I have cared for newborns from 5 days old to 17year olds who just needed to be reminded to eat dinner and not have a party while the parents were out! I follow directions and stick to the rules, understand the seriousness of allergies and medical conditions and ask that all necessary info is provided in advance. Looking forward to helping families balance work, play and learning!
I've officially done plenty of home tutoring as part of after school care and also mentoring with Timorese and other international students at University. I also enjoy teaching life skills like nutrition, cooking and taking about geography, cultural relativity etc.
