Childcare Experience

Working with children has always been a passion of mine. In my employment history I have always sort out positions where I can work first hand with children as I find it fun and rewarding. Working with children and in education is what genuinely makes me happy and I couldn’t see my future career without children involved. It is not just about being with children but also educating, watching them learn and grow and having the skills to make a difference in the lives of others. Since my first job as a swimming instructor at 18 I have been able to understand the rewards and challenges that come with this early on. From there, I worked my way up to being a supervisor at a before and after school care and eventually became a Master of Teaching graduate.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring since the age of 19 where I began tutoring high school mathematics (after having just completed extension mathematics in the HSC). Since then, I have casually taught primary and high school maths over the years. My most recent students were in year 5 and I tutored them mathematics as well as supporting motivation and engagement. During this time I also worked as an SLSO at two schools providing one-to-one support for students with special education needs and learning disabilities. Having completed a Master of Teaching at the University of Sydney in 2018, I now have over five years teaching experience in Sydney (2018-2019) and London (2019-2023). I am currently employed as a part-time Japanese teacher at one primary school whilst also covering Japanese at another school. I have over 10 years of formal Japanese language education from primary to high school as well as at the University of Technology, Sydney and Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, Japan.
