Hi there! My name is Laure, and I'm a friendly and enthusiastic French Canadian finishing up my master’s in Speech Pathology here in Brisbane. I absolutely love working with children and have a a lot of experience in various roles, including as a ski instructor, babysitter, speech therapist, and tutor. Growing up with four siblings has given me a natural ability to connect with kids of all ages. I hold a Working with Children card, and I'm certified in First Aid and CPR. I also have my own car, which makes me flexible and reliable. I’m really looking forward to meet you and your little ones!
I have both qualifications and extensive experience working with individuals who have special needs. I hold an NDIS card and have completed specialized training in this area. My studies in Speech Pathology have provided me with in-depth knowledge of various special needs populations, including those with intellectual disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, people with physical disabilities, and congenital disorders.
I have been working with children from a very young age, starting with looking after my younger siblings, and later moving on to babysitting, tutoring, and working as a ski instructor for children in Canada. I’m comfortable with children of all ages and truly enjoy building connections with them. What I find most rewarding about childcare is the opportunity to see children grow, learn, and gain confidence. Being a part of their journey, whether it’s helping them solve a problem or simply playing together, brings me joy and fulfillment.
I’ve been tutoring for 10 years now and have always loved helping children succeed in their learning. I’m set to graduate with a degree in Speech Pathology in November 2024, and I’ve had the privilege of working with children facing a variety of challenges. As a bilingual speaker in French and English, I can offer support in both languages. I’m equipped to assist with any subject your child may need help with during their primary school years. I’m known for my patience and creativity in explaining concepts in different, engaging ways that connect with each child.
