Hi mums and dads, I’m a current university student with a passion for working with children, looking to help out local families needing a babysitter. I come from a big family myself, and as the eldest child, I am used to looking after young children of all different ages. I have worked part time as a swim teacher for the past year with children 6 months- 12 years. I also hold a certificate IV in education support, which required 120 hours of classroom experience, helping students with their school work, as well as supporting difficult behaviour, and social/emotional issues. This work has given me a thorough understanding of the Victorian curriculum and creative ways to make learning fun for your child while helping them complete homework, or catch up with their class. As a second year psychology student, I’ve also developed an understanding around child development, and developmental disabilities, allowing me to support children with a range of additional needs. Due to my current schedule with uni and teaching, I’m usually available week nights and weekends.
I’ve been looking after children since I was 12. I’ve started working with children professionally during 2023 in education settings. My past experience has heavily focused on preschool aged to children in early primary school, which is where I am most comfortable, however, I have had experience working with both older and younger kids. I have a passion for working with children and helping them reach their potential, and discover their interests, whether that be in an education setting or elsewhere.
